Your MOT Garage in Bracknell
For an MOT in Bracknell - here at Baileys we are authorised by the DVSA to carry out MOT’s on Class 4 Cars, Vans and 4 x 4’s up to 3000kg. Our price to carry out MOT’s is £49.99 with a FREE retest within 10 working days should you require one. Baileys will send you a text message to remind you when your MOT is due, between a month and two weeks prior to your MOT expiry.
We have two MOT testers here at the Garage. Our MOT’s are carried out on site and we have a booking system for each MOT slot. You can either leave you car with us and collect when suits you, or you can wait here at the Garage. The MOT Test takes on average between 45 minutes and 1 hour to complete and you will be issued with a certificate.
If your MOT passes, you may have some advisories. These are not essential to be repaired straight away but they will be fully explained to you, together with timescales as to when you should get any work completed.
If your MOT fails, the certificate will list all the reasons for the failure and again these will be explained to you fully and should you require a quotation, we can provide one for you. It is your choice should you wish to take your vehicle for repairs elsewhere and this will not affect your free retest.
It is a legal requirement to have an MOT test carried out on a vehicle once it is 3 years old and then every year thereafter.
The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards.
The MOT will last for one year and the date that it runs out is printed on your current certificate.
You can get an MOT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date. For example if your MOT runs out on 20th June, the earliest you can get an MOT to keep the same renewal date for next year is 21st May.
You can get an MOT earlier, but the renewal date for the following year will change to one year (minus a day) from the date your vehicle last passed its MOT.
You cannot drive your vehicle on the road if the MOT has run out. You will be prosecuted if caught.
The only exceptions are to drive it:
To or from somewhere to be repaired
To a pre-arranged MOT test, for example to our Bracknell MOT centre here at Baileys.
